This smoothie is great as a meal replacement in the morning. The avocado has healthy fats which make you feel satiated. It also makes this delicious smoothie oh so creamy. The dates add energy, the spinach has iron and the chia seeds fibre. The almond milk is a lactose free substitute for milk and makes this taste more like dessert than a healthy breakfast. To top it off, I don’t know if this just works on me but if I eat 1/2 avocado a day it really helps with my tummy bloat. Either way it is a win-win situation.
Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp creamed honey (optional)
- 1 -2 medjool dates (2 if not using honey)
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1 cup almond milk (or enough to cover)
Method:
- Pop everything in a blender and blend away baby.
Tips:
If you prefer a thinner consistency use more almond milk or top up with water as that Almond Breeze is pricey.
If you are making for two people, use more avocado, spinach and dates.
Do not let this stand! Best to drink immediately.
