One of the first food bloggers I started to follow was Gina Homolka from Skinny Taste<\/a>. She took favourite recipes and gave them a healthy spin. They were always easy to make and didn’t use complicated ingredients. I loved that they were all family style and there was nothing over the top or pretentious about her cooking. Just good ‘ol home-made food.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These brownies are from her website and they are my absolute favourite. I had a tin of kidney beans leftover from my Four Tins, Eight Dishes post over here<\/a>, and I never got around to making that chilli con carne so I decided to make these instead!<\/p>\n

You can find the recipe for the brownies here<\/a>. They contain kidney beans, cocoa powder, eggs, sugar, oil, milk, vinegar, baking powder, baking soda and coffee.<\/p>\n

I substituted the balsamic vinegar for brown spirit vinegar as that was all I had and used regular milk instead of almond milk. I also used 1\/2 cup of sugar instead of 3\/4 cup and just sprinkled some chocolate chips on top instead of putting them in the mixture.<\/p>\n

Just toss everything into a food processor and blend! It’s as easy as that.<\/p>\n
