Crispy Korean BBQ Chicken Wings<\/h1>\n

I had a whole list of yummy things to make in the holidays, but I was obviously living my best life and didn’t get to this one. I have an old recipe from 2017 of Korean BBQ chicken wings here<\/a> but have been meaning to re-do it once I had Gochujang. This new recipe is not that different to the old one and uses similar ingredients but the ratio’s are different as well as the cooking method!<\/p>\n

One tip I’ve realized over the years with chicken wings, is to keep it simple! It’s all about the chicken and cooking method after all. A lot of the Asian methods follow this process of cooking the chicken first, then coating it in the sauce. I’ve always tended to marinate and then cook, but from now will follow this process instead!<\/p>\n

Crispy Korean BBQ Chicken Wings Recipe<\/h2>\n

Ingredients:<\/span><\/h3>\n

• 2 Tb Honey<\/li>\n
• 2Tb soy sauce<\/li>\n
• 3 tsp Gochujang paste<\/li>\n
• 2Tb brown sugar<\/li>\n
• 1 Garlic clove, smashed\/grated<\/li>\n
• 2Tb rice vinegar<\/li>\n
• 1\/4 tsp fine black pepper<\/li>\n
• 2 tsp chilli powder* (apologies, just realized I forgot to add this to the recipe)<\/li>\n
• salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Method:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  \n
  1. Preheat your oven to 200\u00b0C.<\/li>\n
  2. I prepared my chicken wings but cutting the wing into two winglets and discarding the tips.<\/li>\n
  3. Pat your wings dry with some paper towel and then place them on a tray, evenly spaced out and not touching.<\/li>\n
  4. Sprinkle generously with pink Himalayan salt (regular salt is fine too).<\/li>\n
  5. Place the chicken wings in the oven and reduce the heat to 180\u00b0C.<\/li>\n
  6. Roast for 30 – 45 minutes or until crispy (Time will depend on your oven\/fan assisted or not).<\/li>\n
  7. Put your grill on the highest setting and grill for two minutes – or as long as you like lol.<\/li>\n
  8. Take out of oven and allow to cool slightly. The skin should be crisp and golden brown.<\/li>\n
  9. For the sauce, mix all ingredients together, as soon as it starts to bubble rapidly take it off the heat. Keep aside until needed and coat your wings when they are ready to eat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
